Lake of Bays Heritage Foundation

Building our Education and Outreach Capacity

An important part of our mandate is to build the resources to deliver education programmes to protect the natural and community heritage of the Lake of Bays region, and to undertake special projects each year to advance this goal.

We are in a multi-year project to refurbish and repurpose the Marsh’s Falls cottage into our Education Centre and are delighted with the growing community use by Irwin Memorial School, Probus clubs, nature clubs, Township groups, family groups and artists.

This year we are mapping and clearing nature trails for educational walks on the property and creating information panels for mounting in the Education Centre and the Lake of Bays Marine Museum and Navigation Society building in Dorset. This fantastic work is led by our Education and Outreach Committee and a group of resourceful volunteers.
