New Local History Book Available
LBHF past-president Bruce MacLellan has published Back Again at Lake of Bays, as a sequel to his 2007 book Post Cards from Lake of Bays. The new book is available in local gift shops and features additional post cards and text about the history of our lake and Township. Net proceeds go to the LBHF and the Dorset Heritage Museum.
Our Results
- One mile of natural shoreline and 47-acres of forest at Port Cunnington preserved.
- Encouraged the Township to create a Heritage sub-committee of Council.
- 100-acre parcel of land acquired near Dwight on the Lower Oxtongue River with 5.5 KM of shoreline.
- More than two dozen buildings recognized for heritage value.
