Silent Boat Rally

Sneak up on nature on Saturday July 25!
Join us for the Silent Boat Rally, an ecological paddle along the beautiful Lower Oxtongue River for canoeists, kayakers, and paddleboarders. This relaxed 5.5 km journey follows one of Muskoka's most scenic waterways, where winding meanders, sheltered bays, and abundant wildlife make every bend a new discovery. Volunteer naturalists paddle with participants, helping spot wildlife and sharing insights about the river's plants, animals, and ecology.
Watch for turtles, herons, loons, beavers, and other wildlife as you paddle, and take part in our wildlife sighting contest for a chance to win a prize. The morning concludes with a catered lunch overlooking Marsh's Falls at Marsh's Falls Nature Reserve. Suitable for all ages and experience levels.
We start at Dwight Beach at 9:00 a.m. and paddle 1 km along the shore of Dwight Bay to the mouth of the Lower Oxtongue River. From there, it's another 4.5 km up the winding river to Marsh's Falls Nature Reserve, for a total paddle of approximately 5.5 km. Take your time to explore the river's meanders and sheltered bays before landing at Marsh's Falls Nature Reserve. Stretch your legs, enjoy a catered lunch overlooking the falls, and return to Dwight Beach by approximately 2:00 p.m.
